Bill Rastetter will be our guest and speaker for the evening.  Bill, a scientist, entrepreneur, and venture capitalist, was the CEO of IDEC Pharmaceuticals, where he co-invented and developed Rituxan, the first monoclonal antibody to be approved by the FDA for cancer therapy.  Idec merged with Biogen and Bill served as the Executive Chair of Biogen IDEC, from 2003 to 2005. Bill was also a co-founder, and interim CEO and chairman of Receptos, which was bought by Celgene.  He is currently the chairman of the board for Neurocrine Biosciences, Fate Therapeutics, and Daré Bioscience.  Bill was also a founding board member and investor in GRAIL, and a director of Regulus Therapeutics and Illumina. He serves as a strategic advisor to SVB Leerink and advisor to Illumina Ventures.
